At some point, a business hits the wall where a website or an off-the-shelf app stops being enough. Maybe you’re running your operations on a spreadsheet that’s become a full-time job. Maybe you need a dashboard that shows live KPIs. Maybe you need a system built around your workflow, not the other way around.
That’s custom software. This post explains what it is, what it costs in Malaysia, and how the process actually works.
When a website isn’t enough
A website is a brochure — it tells people about you. Custom software does things. You probably need it when:
- You manage orders, bookings, clients, or stock in spreadsheets and WhatsApp that are getting out of hand.
- You need a dashboard that combines data from several sources into one live view.
- Your team uses three disconnected tools to do one job.
- Off-the-shelf software exists but makes you change your process to fit its assumptions.
- You want an internal tool that clients, staff, or partners log into.
What we build
Custom web apps
Tools and platforms tailored to your workflow — from internal systems your team uses daily, to client-facing products. These are built to be reliable and maintainable, not thrown together.
Business dashboards
Live data, real-time KPIs, and clean reporting that replace spreadsheets and guesswork. If your decisions currently depend on someone exporting and emailing a CSV, a dashboard changes how your business runs.
.NET & Blazor systems
Back-office systems built on Microsoft’s stack — solid, predictable, and well-suited to Malaysian enterprises and government-adjacent work that values stability and support.
Unity visualizations
Interactive 3D and real-time visual experiences for product demos, training, and presentations — the same engine the gaming industry uses, applied to business.
How pricing works (quotation-based)
Unlike our published website pricing, custom software is quoted by scope — because a “dashboard” can mean a two-week tool or a six-month platform. What you can count on is the process:
- Free 30-minute call — we listen, understand the problem, and define scope together.
- Fixed quotation — you get a number and a schedule before any work starts. No hourly-billing surprises.
- Build and deploy — you see progress throughout, with checkpoints.
- You own the result — source, credentials, and full handover.
The fixed-quotation step is the important one. It means you can compare, budget, and sign with confidence — the same transparency we bring to website pricing.
Projects that show the range
Our portfolio spans both ends of this spectrum:
- Adyumrah Hajj & Umrah — a travel booking platform with an admin dashboard (case study).
- Hawker Rewards — a loyalty rewards app for hawker stalls (case study).
- AVS Bina — a construction company website with real business goals (case study).
None of these started with a big budget — they started with a clear problem and a scoping call.
A practical note on scope
The single biggest driver of custom-software cost is scope creep — features added after the quote. Two ways we keep it under control:
- The quote is the contract. The fixed price covers the agreed scope; anything genuinely new is quoted separately and agreed first.
- We build the boring core first. The 80% of features you’ll actually use daily, shipped and in use, before the nice-to-haves.
Getting started
If any of this sounds like your situation, don’t send a brief — book a free 30-minute call and describe the problem. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s a website project, a custom-software project, or something in between, and you’ll get a fixed quotation either way.
Meanwhile, the services and pricing page has the full picture of everything we offer, from RM1,500 websites to quotation-based systems.
