HaikaiTech no longer offers a public monthly website subscription. Current work is scoped through a promotional starting point, a fixed quotation or an approved phased build. This guide explains the ownership and maintenance questions to settle before accepting any quotation.
What ownership should mean
For a completed one-time quoted project, the quotation should identify what is handed over after final payment. Depending on the project, that may include:
- Domain or DNS access,
- Hosting access,
- Website administration credentials,
- Source files or repository access,
- Design and content deliverables,
- Documentation for custom systems.
Third-party software, stock assets, fonts, plugins and platforms may carry their own licences. Those terms should be listed separately rather than implied to be owned outright.
The costs that continue after launch
Even a one-time build can have ongoing costs:

Maintenance is different from a new feature
Maintenance keeps an agreed build working. A new feature changes what the website or system does. Updating dependencies, renewing infrastructure and fixing an existing form are maintenance tasks; adding a new booking flow, member portal or integration is new development.
Separating the two avoids a common disagreement: one side expects unlimited improvements while the other priced only routine upkeep.
Questions to ask before signing
- What credentials and files are handed over after completion?
- Which domain, hosting and software costs recur?
- Who owns each account used by the website?
- What support is included immediately after launch?
- How are future updates and new features quoted?
- What happens if you move the website to another provider?

Selected standard website promotions start from RM1,500. The promotion is a starting point for defined scopes, not a universal package price. CMS-heavy websites, ecommerce, booking, payments, integrations and custom systems are quoted according to the real requirements.
Standard projects generally use a 50% payment to start and 50% before final launch or handover. The formal quotation confirms the exact deliverables, exclusions, ownership terms and ongoing costs.
